Fresh is Best!

Some friends of mine went to the farmer's market this weekend and graciously picked up some stuff for me as well!  It's always amazing to be how much better the deals are there than even on sale at the grocery store.

I got everything pictured here for $6.50.  The peaches alone would have cost me this at the grocery store!

30 plums
6 bell peppers
3 packages of strawberries
19 peaches

I love being able to purchase fresh produce for such great deals!  Anyone have any yummy plum recipes? I'm not quite sure how to use all of these up!

I Caved...

and entered the world of this sin...

No seriously, I understand now what bloggers say when they call this addicting. I've already spray painted 2 things with this stuff!  I'm making that my limit...for now! :)  But more on this later, I still have one final coat to spray and a box of chalk to buy before I reveal.

We had quite a full, but fun Labor Day weekend.  The weather was PERFECT this weekend.  Caleb informed me that I was the only one he has ever seen that has jumped in excitement of fall weather.  To my defense, I didn't jump, I did squeal though.  Seriously, it was cool and breezy, amazing!Saturday, Caleb and I ventured out with two friends of ours to the Marietta Farmer's Market.

Turns out, the downtown square was also hosting a Labor Day arts and crafts festival, so they crammed the farmers market down a little alley street.  Needless to say, the selection was scarce.  But I was too happy about the beautiful weather to care.

From here, we headed to a nearby thrift store and Old Time Pottery.  I found a couple of cute things, which will be projects later.  Then we headed to our local indoor farmer's market to get the produce we needed for the week.  This day ended with a lot of cleaning and organizing.

Sunday, we went to a friend's house to grill out. I'm a terrible blogger and got no pictures (I think the first rule of blogging is NOT to call yourself terrible).  We had a great time though, once again, enjoying the beautiful weather and relaxing atmosphere.

Monday, we got the phenomenal idea to go on a hike.  So we looked up nearby state parks and found one less than 16 miles from our house, who knew.  We roped two of our friends into it and set off.  Somewhere on the park website it described the 2 mile hike as leisurely and scenic.  The author on the website had either 1. never hiked the trail before or 2. taken far too many literature classes.  Regardless, the 3+ miles was enjoyable.  Somehow the beautiful fall weather I jumped squealed smiled about on Saturday and Sunday, decided to disappear the day we decide to participate in physical activity.  Not a breeze in sight.  That being said, it was still very pretty!
