Thanksgiving was a lovely day of rest, cooking, watching the end of the Macy’s day parade, cooking, a walk, cooking, eating and family time.
We also got to sit down a lot, which was a nice change.
Friday we spent restoring the house to its normal state and washing dishes. I love cooking; I greatly dislike the cleanup part of the deal. Around 2 PM I got up the nerve to do a little bit of Black Friday shopping. Apparently, I am not a gung-ho, shop instead of sleep, dedicated economy booster. I went to Target and bought a $20 chenille throw for my living room for $5 and a $20 vest for $7. We also went to Kohl’s and bought a $40 pair of jeans for $10 and a $50 chef’s knife for $25. Rack Room Shoes was having a big sale and we were able to buy Caleb two pairs of shoes for $15 a piece. Overall, we were able to find some great deals on things that we needed. We are keeping it simple this year, in a lot of ways, so there isn’t too much shopping to be done.
Saturday we enjoyed meeting up with friends for a game of flag football.
The boys played and the girls watched. The cold weather has certainly arrived as I could no longer feel my face by the end of the game! It was nice to spend some time enjoying the great outdoors.
What a blessing it was to have some down time and to rest. Especially since Christmas is RIGHT around the corner. I am hosting my first giveaway tomorrow and I am super excited! Check back first thing in the morning to find out how you can enter to win gift cards at my blog and many other blogs!
